Those Who Hope in the Lord Are Not Disappointed
Apr 11, 2017
They crucified Him. It was so dark. Everyone felt the holy hush fall upon the earth. Everyone knew something was different. The separation of death hung in the air in a whole new way. They buried Him. It was so final. It was so wrong. It was all messed up.They were at a lost. They were lost. Everything went wrong. How could things ever work out now?
1 Peter 2:6 “BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A CHOICE STONE, A PRECIOUS CORNER stone, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.”
They waited. They hoped against the facts. They were not disappointed. By faith, they were hidden in the quiet of the presence of God in Christ. They were made new. Everything was made new. It would be alright. They had a new hope, a living hope that defeated death and sin.
Often, when things go wrong or feel all wrong, we go back to what we were doing before Jesus came. Wait! We try to earn worth and acceptance through achievements or others or give into self-destructive behaviors. Sit down! It is when everything feels wrong, when it seems death has won, and everything is going wrong, that God is at work. Keep believing!
Everything is messed up. Wait! God is at work on your behalf.
No one gets it. Rest! Christ bore your sins and your pain. He gets it!
Things will never be the same. Hope! Things will be made new, better in a new way.
I have messed everything up. Trust! God is at work and nothing is impossible for Him.
When it was the darkest and things looked the worst, Christ rose from the grave defeating death and sin. He who was dead is alive. He is alive! He is alive to be unto you all that you need and that you cannot be unto yourself! What is dead in your life? What seems hopeless in your life? The same Spirit that raised Christ from the grave lives in you to work in you!
