Worship In The Spirit of God
Nov 1, 2016
I am sure you all know the saying, “Spring Forward, Fall Back”, and as we move from casual, summer fun and relaxation into the scheduled season of Fall activities it brings to mind the idea of falling back into routine, mundane schedules of life.
I find it refreshing that our spiritual lives do not have to be this way. As a member of the true circumcision of Christ it is our reminder that we worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and do not put any confidence in our flesh. (Phil 3:3)
With the Spirit of the Lord joined to our spirit we have direct access to God at all times and our spiritual lives do not have to be categorized into seasons of slow times so we can spend time with the Lord.
For years I was under the impression that I needed to give God a certain portion of my day for Him to be pleased with me and for me to have ears to hear from Him. I do enjoy being still before the Lord, however, my point here is that it was foolish of me to think that God was more pleased with me when I did those things. The truth is our spiritual lives are so united to Christ that one of the privileges of being a believer is that we get to listen and communicate with God the Father at all times throughout the day.
To walk in union with God is a daily privilege. To be quickened by His Spirit in our hearts comes to every believer with a “moment by moment” surrender of one’s own will to the will of the Father. Does your heart yearn to walk closely with your Father God? Do you long to hear from God? Do you have a deep desire to have the struggles of your day exchanged for true peace and joy?”
It comes through surrender. Surrender to a believer means presenting one’s self to the Lord because it is our spiritual service of worship to Him. In Romans 12:1, Paul urges “us to present (surrender) our bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is our spiritual service of worship”.
Surrendering our own ideas, our own agendas, our own intellectual thoughts to the One whose thoughts are higher than our thoughts and ways are higher than our ways takes humility. Humility goes before honor and exaltation. Proverbs 18:12 states, “Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, but humility goes before honor.
Summertime brings with it a season of rest and relaxation away from our normal activities of life and we should all be grateful for that. But as you are gearing up for Fall and all the excitement and activities that it brings to your lives, we, here at Life Center would like to remind you that growing your spiritual life does not have to be an activity that you check off your list of daily activities. As you “fall back” into a more normal schedule with your fall season, just remember that the only falling back that we as believers really need to do is to fall back daily into the loving arms of our Father and submit ourselves to His daily agenda and will for our lives. By doing so, we get to experience the anointing hand of the Lord upon each moment of our day and we are allowed to enter into His place of “rest” and “true security” in Christ Jesus. When we live from His strength and His resources we have the opportunity to enjoy a restful state of mind on a daily basis instead of just certain seasons of our lives when we are intentionally setting aside time for Him. Christ is our life! (Colossians 3:4) When Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.
May this Fall Season bring you a newness in your walk with the Lord as you encounter Him on a moment by moment basis by being one with Him in your spirit!
Fall back, but press on by allowing Him to manifest His life in you so that the world may know that you have His light and life in you!
